Busy week....drawing update....etc...

Tractor_treat It's been a crazy busy week & a half!  I just haven't had two minutes to rub together to post on my blog or do half the things I've wanted to!

Anyway - thought I'd sneak in a quick post while I had a chance today to let you know that I'm waiting for my order of Art Journals to arrive - they should be here on Thursday, so I'll do the drawing THIS Friday which will give you some more chances to win it!  Leave a comment each day on my blog and it will count toward another entry so be sure to check back everyday.   I promise I'll post something everyday for the rest of the week so that you have something to comment on! LOL!

Here's a quick layout I did with photos from our trip last week to Confreda Farm.   A very clean & simple layout, not my typical style.  We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch and while we were out there, the gal driving the tractor asked the kids if they wanted to sit in the drivers seat!  How cool is that?  They were so excited!

Supplies:  Purely Pomegrante 12x12 textured Cardstock, Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets, Crop-a-dileFairy Tale Ribbon Originals, Best Friends Alphabet Lower Stamp Set, Genuine Articles Stamp Set, and uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen.     If you'd like to order any of the items I used on this layout email me and I'd be happy to order them for you.  If you order any of these items from me by this Friday, October 26th enjoy 20% off on me!

I've got to get ready for Scrappin' Calendar Class I'm teaching tonight - Leave me a comment for a chance to win the Art Journal I'll be giving away this Friday and let me know what "Fall-ish" activities you've done this past week!

Back to the beginning...

100_4943 I'm getting messy again and it feels great!

When I first started this blog more than a year ago... it was to explore, take a creative journey and hopefully inspire those who read my entries along the way.   Even though I have deleted alot of my old posts, layouts & samples, I really enjoyed playing and creating through the journey.  However, when we moved into our new home in May and I got back to getting my business back in order, my daily creativity just for fun seemed to slip by the wayside.   It seems the only creating I've been doing is for classes, which I love, but it's just not the same as creative play.  Creative play helps you grow and makes your "personal" projects so much better!

So over the past week, I've decided that it is necessary for me to get back to the creative play I enjoyed last year and I hope you'll join me in taking some time for yourself to play creatively as well.  To keep me on task, I've decided to "play" creatively in a morning journal.  You can see how I decorated my cover above in my new banner.

Several of my favorite scrapbook artists, Ali Edwards, Emily Falconbridge and Donna Downey all do something similar in their own ways and I've enjoyed being in on their processes - they've inspired me to get down and dirty and play like a kid in the mud (so to speak)!

I HIGHLY reccomend starting something like this, a place to keep those creative urges flowing. A place to discover your strengths and hone your skills. A place to just PLAY. Think about it, if you're doing something creative every single day, you are going to become a better artist.  Learning and growing.  Whether you are a scrapbooker, card maker or any type of crafter - playing in an art journal will make you smile and make the times you sit down to work on your layouts or cards much more enjoyable and fruitful!

If you'd like to play along with me I can hook you up with the same raw art journal I am using for my cost - only $9.99 plus $4.60 flat rate priority shipping.  It's got 50 sheets inside so that's 100 days of creative play for less than 15 cents per day!  With your journal I'll also include a step-by-step tutorial that shows you how to alter the cover to make it personal to you!

I'll be posting entries from my journal on my blog along with the other layouts & projects that my renewed daily creativity produces.  I'll also be sharing the different products and tools I use in my process.

To kick off this new journey I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway - so leave me a comment below and let me know if you are a scrapbooker, card maker or other crafter and you just may win your art journal for FREE!

Don't wait to order yours just because you might be the winner - email me to order yours today and if you are the winner - I'll include your refund with your art journal!

I will draw a winner from all the posts made between today and next Thursday,  Oct.  19th so be sure to check back and leave a comment on each day's post for more chances to win!

This is going to be tons of fun, you'll really enjoy where this process will take you!   Even if you think you don't have the time to participate, trust me, there's lots of flexibilty with this - you'll "play" on your own terms - there are no rules, only a creative opportunity.  Say yes and join the adventure!

Ciao till tomorrow!
